Cosmetic Bonding is a cost-effective way to correct the appearance of  imperfect teeth. Dental bonding, also referred to as composite or tooth bonding, can be utilized to repair cracked , chipped or discolored teeth. If bonding is right for you, Dr. Slovick will use a process in which an enamel-like dental composite material is applied to a tooth's surface, sculpted into shape, hardened and then polished. Dental bonding is usually completed in one office visit.

Crowns and Bridges - A Crown ( some refer to it as a " cap" ) is a type of dental restoration which completely caps or encircles a tooth or dental implant and is typically bonded to the tooth using a dental cement to protect the entire tooth. . A bridge, also known as a fixed partial denture, is a dental restoration used to replace a missing tooth by joining permanently to adjacent teeth or dental implants.

Dentures - Dentures are prosthetic devices constructed to replace missing teeth. Complete dentures are used to replace teeth when there are no teeth remaining. The teeth are prefabricated acrylic which come in many sizes, shapes, and shades. They are processed into a custom made acrylic base which is made to comfortably fit the gum tissue in your mouth. Dentures which are properly fit will enhance a person's ability to speak, eat, and will contribute to  improve an overall quality of life.

Fillings - A dental restoration or dental filling is a dental restorative material used to restore the function, integrity and morphology of missing tooth structure. Patients may choose to have white " tooth-colored" fillings ( either composite or porcelain) or silver amalgam restorations. Some choose to replace their older silver amalgam fillings with white " tooth-colored" composite fillings. Dr. Slovick will work with you to ensure that you choose the correct material to  achieve the desired result.

Hygiene - Good oral hygiene is essential for overall good health and proper care of teeth and gums can help those with chronic illnesses ward off infection. The American Dental Association recommends the following for good oral hygiene: Brush your teeth twice a day with an ADA-accepted fluoride toothpaste, replacing your toothbrush every three or four months. Floss daily, eat a balanced diet and limit snacks between meals. Visit your dentist regularly for professional cleanings and oral exams. Dr. Slovick recommends scheduling a cleaning every 6 months - 1 year.

Preventive Services Dentistry is a way of reducing the need for future treatment by maintaining a healthy mouth. Two major causes of tooth loss are decay and gum disease, and the more we prevent these from occurring the better. Together the patient, the dentist and the hygienist will conceive a plan to achieve and maintain good oral health and hopefully prevent the need for treatment such as fillings or extractions. The goal is to keep your teeth for life.

Root Canal Therapy or Endodontic therapy is the treatment of a tooth to eliminate infection and protect the decontaminated tooth from future decay.  The procedure is relatively painless when done properly.

Sealants - Dental sealants are a dental treatment consisting of applying a plastic material to one or more teeth, for the intended purpose of preventing dental caries (cavities) or other forms of tooth decay.

Snore Appliances - Snoring can be more than a disruption of a good- night's sleep- it can also be bad for one's overall health. A snore appliance is specially made to fit the patient's jaw to advance the lower jaw slightly while sleeping . Oral appliances have been proven to be effective in reducing snoring and are a common method of treatment.

Tooth-colored restorations - Composite resins are tooth-colored fillings made of a plastic mixture filled with glass or silicon dioxide. They're used in place of traditional silver fillings in areas where patients would like the restoration to match the color of the tooth.

When applying a composite resin filling, Dr. Slovick will prepare the decayed tooth normally. Then he'll insert the composite and use a special light to harden the material. Lastly, he'll shape the composite to properly fit the tooth and polish it to prevent staining.

Veneers are ultra-thin, custom-made porcelain layers that are bonded directly to correct damaged, discolored, or imperfect teeth. They are a good option for closing gaps or disguising discolored teeth that do not respond well to whitening procedures. Porcelain is extremely durable and looks natural because of its similarity in color, translucence and texture to tooth enamel.

Whitening - Whitening , or "tooth bleaching", is the most common cosmetic dental procedure. Whitening  teeth can drastically change one's appearance and boost one's self-esteem. While many whitening options are now available, dentist-supervised treatments remain the recommended procedures for lightening discolored teeth. Dr. Slovick can work with you to determine the best method of whitening your teeth.
